What you'll do
- You specify and design structures, machines, or products for various projects
- You develop these independently or as part of a team into a complete engineering package suitable for implementation
- You seek out the best technical solution, keeping in mind manufacturability, strength, cost, and reliability
- You substantiate your design choices with strength calculations using FEM
- You will draft and model in 3D CAD software
- You will maintain direct, project-oriented contact with the client, including in English when necessary
- You will deliver a package that the shop can build without having to guess
What we ask
- A completed associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field
- Several years of experience as an engineer in the mechanical engineering sector
- Experience with FEM and 3D CAD software such as NX, Ansys, SolidWorks, or Inventor
- You don’t need to be familiar with all of these tools. Being proficient in one and willing to learn the others is sufficient
- A creative approach to solving engineering problems
- You communicate easily with clients and colleagues, in Dutch and English
- A quality-oriented mindset
- Flexibility when it comes to working on various projects
What we offer
- €3,500–5,000 gross per month, full-time, depending on experience and knowledge
- 22 vacation days plus 13 ATV days, for a total of 35 days off per year

About the role
You’ll work as a mechanical engineer for various clients in the Netherlands on real-world construction and machinery projects, rather than a set routine. One project might be a production machine, the next a steel structure for an industrial client. You’ll address the technical challenge, find the best solution, and develop it into a design that a workshop can actually build.
The work is office-based, not on the production floor. You’ll spend a lot of time in 3D CAD, perform strength calculations, and think through what happens if a component fails under load. You’ll speak directly with the client about what’s needed and what’s feasible, so you need to be able to explain your design choices just as easily as you can draw them.
